Drawing on archival material from the communitarian Oneida Perfectionists (ca. 1840-1841), Oneida, Ltd., and John Conway’s Game of Life, I’d Rather Die than Die Alone is a performance made out of harmony, and reading in public. This brief utopia doesn’t so much fail as it does refract and reflect on itself. In the cracks, fissures, repetitions and revisions, a strange and personal narrative seeps in.
